Exams Information
Information for Candidates

No electronic communications or storage devices such as mobile phones, iPods or MP3/4 players, watches and any other products with text or digital facilities are allowed into the examination room.

No calculator cases are to be brought into the exam.

Pencil cases must be see-through (N.B. use of black ball pens only for all written work).

Water bottles must be completely see-through with any labels removed and contain water only.

Bags must not be brought into the examination room. These should be left in lockers / on the hooks in the corridor as you enter the exam.

Please check seating plans carefully so you know where you are to sit.
The seating plans will be displayed on the examinations notice board located outside of the canteen. All examinations start at 9:00am in the morning sessions, and 1:00pm in the afternoon sessions. (Please note that when afternoon sessions continue after the normal school finishing time you will need to make suitable arrangements to travel home).
Registration will take place inside the examination room and you will be able to gain entry from 8:50am for morning exams and 12:50pm for afternoon exams. Once candidates have entered the examination room they will be under strict examination conditions. You MUST be seated by 8:55am for morning exams and 12:55pm for afternoon exams, when registration will take place.
If you are delayed for an unforeseen reason before any examination and you think you might be late, you must telephone the school on (01205) 366444 to inform us of the reason why you may be late and your anticipated arrival time. If you are late when you arrive in school, go straight to the examination room.
If you are absent from an examination due to illness, you must telephone the school on (01205) 366444 as soon as possible on the morning of the examination or earlier if it is anticipated that you will be absent from a future examination due to illness. A medical certificate/letter must be provided within three days of the examination to the Examinations Officer. If you are absent for any other reason than illness you must see the Examinations Officer on your return.
Access Arrangements
If a student has an identified learning need or disability that means that he or she is disadvantaged in comparison to other students of similar ability, he or she may qualify for access arrangements for public examinations.

Provisional examination results will be available on the following publication dates:
November 2025 GCSE Examinations - Thursday, 8 January 2026
January 2026 BTEC Examinations - Thursday, 19 March 2026
Summer 2026 GCE examinations - Thursday, 13 August 2026
Summer 2026 GCSE examinations - Thursday, 20 August 2026
