The Three Crowns Canteen
Welcome to the school's canteen, The Three Crowns. Named by a student poll, the canteen is open break time and lunch time for hot and cold food. Using fingerprint technology pupils no longer need to scramble in their pockets for change. Instead, money can be put into their account online via Iris Pay, taking away the worry of carrying cash day-to-day.
There is ample seating for all those who want to use the facility, and the menus change each day. Students and staff can relax in a pleasant café-style atmosphere, chat over their lunches and listen to music or watch twenty-four hour news on the plasma screen television. Gone are the days of boys sitting in silence in rows, awaiting the moment when the masters had been served and they could finally eat!
In line with our Healthy Schools status, all menus are based around healthy eating options, and there is a wide range of options from full roast dinners to the salad bar, or the variety of sandwiches and baguettes. Canteen staff are all food safety trained and the canteen is rated as a 5 for food hygiene by the Food Standards Agency.
Those bringing packed lunches are welcome to use the canteen facilities too, as the cashless system turn-around times mean that it is never full.
