The National Careers Service website has career profiles of over 750 jobs providing information on the skills and qualifications required.
The Pure Potential website is easy to navigate and has plenty of useful advice on applying to university, school leaver programmes, and choosing a career.
I Could has over a thousand career videos as well as games and lots of information. In the career stories people talk about what they do, what it's like, how they got there and their hopes for the future.
Prospects is similar to the National Careers Service, giving detailed job information and links to advice on writing CVs and cover letters.
Careers Box is a free online library of careers related films, news and information. The case study films show real people doing real jobs to give you an idea of what a job is really like.
Start is a free website where you can explore career worlds, view employer profiles, browse opportunities in your local area, and find careers advice on all sorts of topics from choosing your GCSEs to what not to wear at a job interview.
If you're stuck for career ideas you might like to try Indigo where you can answer questions about your interests to come up with some career suggestions. Just remember, Indigo isn't telling you what to do, it's there to help give you some ideas. Please come and see or email Miss Cook if you would like to use this tool.

If you want to get into a good university, it's essential that you stretch yourself beyond the school syllabus before you make your applications. Luckily, it's never been easier or cheaper to do this: the internet is chock-full of free lectures, articles, university courses, blogs and so much more to interest you, inspire you, make you laugh - and get you thinking like a university student.
Not sure where to start?
The resources featured on this page cover a massive range of topics, so they're a great place to get started if you're not yet sure where your interests lie or feel like finding something new. You can search by rough subject area (like 'Humanities') or by specific subjects (like 'History').

Employers - How to Get Involved
As a school we are keen to work with employers to raise awareness of different industry sectors, local employment opportunities and raise aspirations for our students. We have many different activities and events which you may feel that you can contribute to or be involved in supporting us with.
The world of work for young people can be daunting - not knowing what to expect, skills required, options and expectations from employers. We are proud to support and prepare our students for the world of work but as employers you are best placed to say what skills/qualifications are needed, what you are looking for, expectations, opportunities, and progression in the workplace.

Alternative Post 16 & 18 Opportunities
T Levels are qualifications combining classroom learning alongside an industry placement and are designed for young people as an option following GCSEs (post-16).
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You're an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.
