Year 5 Open Evening
Thursday 24th September 2026, 5pm - 7:30pm
We would like to invite you to our Year 5 Open Evening on Thursday 24th September between 5pm and 7:30pm.
We are delighted to be able to open the school for you to come and see the fantastic opportunities we offer.
Mr McHenry (Headteacher) and Mr Thompson (Head of Year 7) will address parents in the main hall at 5:30pm and 6:30pm.
Ofsted Report
Boston Grammar School had a very positive Ofsted visit in April 2026. Inspectors highlighted the inclusive, warm nature of the school and particularly praised the strong attendance and behaviour which drive our success.
Leadership: "Leaders provide clear strategic direction and strong moral purpose.... Leaders draw on their understanding of the school's context to make decisions that are firmly rooted in what is best for pupils."
Behaviour: "Pupils' behaviour across the school is excellent. They move around the school calmly and purposefully, showing courtesy towards staff and each other. In lessons pupils are attentive, focused and keen to learn."
Relationships: "Pupils feel safe. They trust staff. Relationships between pupils and staff are warm and respectful, and pupils treat one another with kindness."
Curriculum: "Leaders provide strong strategic direction for the curriculum and teaching. They have designed an ambitious and well‑sequenced curriculum that sets out clearly what pupils should learn and when."
Personal Development: "Leaders have created an effective careers programme. Local employers visit the school to bring the world of work to life, and pupils gain valuable insights through university visits and work-experience placements."
Belonging: "Pupils are proud to attend Boston Grammar School. They join a community with a long history and distinctive traditions, such as Beast Mart, Charter Day and 'Puddox'. These contribute to a strong sense of identity among pupils."
